First United Baptist Church Of Grays Creek

3N1 are headed to the First United Baptist Church of Grays Creek this Sunday. We met the Pastor at Village Green right after we finished our Christmas program there.  He said he was sorry he had missed the program and would have like to hear us sing. We handed him one of our business cards and that is when he introduced himself. He asked us to sing a song for him so we did our acapella version of "It Is Well".  People walking by the windows of the dinning area all stopped and listened as we sang.  We could see the look on each others faces as we sang.  We forgot where we were and it was all about singing for the Lord at that point.  He asked if we were available on January 2nd.  We were available and we hope to see you there for our first concert of 2011.  The church is located at 2002 Chickenfoot rd. in Fayetteville.

O Come All Ye Faithful / O Holy Night

Here is one of the songs we did at Reilly Road Presbyterian Church.  We just wanted to share with those who were not able to make any of our Christmas concerts.  Merry Christmas everyone!

What a busy day

we finished our 2  Christmas Concerts today at Village Green and at Carolina Inn. We had the best time singing and getting to meet all the folks at these two find places. We have our last Christmas concert tomorrow morning at Reilly Road Presbyterian Church. We believe it will be a special service.  We also hope to have some new pictures soon.  We hope to see as many of you as we can at Reilly Road Presbyterian in the morning.  Service starts at 10:45am.

So Far So Good

We learned a couple of things from our first Christmas concert of the season.  #1 is how to spell Campbellton.  I have been misspelling it from the beginning and I do apologize for that. #2 is you always have to be flexible with the schedule. We got a late start due to the group in front of us on the schedule but that was OK. We were able to set up in 15 minutes and start the concert.  There was a lot of people there and they were all smiling and singing with us.  OK maybe one of them wasn't smiling but I don't think we had anything to do with it. We didn't have much time to meet with the residents after we sang due to we had to clear out so dinner could get started. Dinner is important to me so I think I can safely assume it is important to the folks at Campbellton too!  We greatly enjoyed out time there and hope to be back soon.  Next week is packed full if singing with 2 concerts on Saturday and one on Sunday morning.  Feel free to contact us if you every have any questions or comments. We'll see you soon.

The Christmas Concerts Begin

Our first Christmas Concert of the Season is Sunday afternoon at Cambleton down on Legion Rd. We start at 4.  We only finished practicing for the program this morning so keep us in your prayers.  And don't forget our concert at Reilly Road Presbyterian Church on Dec 19th.

Village Baptist "Wild Game" night

3N1 will get to share with the folks at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville on January 22, 2011. We are looking forward to sharing with them the word of God in song and maybe even sharing some of the great things I have been told will be cooked for that evening.  Thank you so much for the invite, Village Baptist.  We will see you soon!

Cape Fear Valley Food and Nutrition Banquet

Wednesday night at the Food and Nutrition award banquet, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, was a very special night. You could just tell that most of the people there already had a close relationship with God as we sang. We just felt God was in the house as we were singing. We are so glad they asked us to sing for them. God is good. He just keeps blessing our ministry over and over.  Keep us in your prayers.

We will call this the "I'm Fine" picture from our concert at the Robeson County Fair. We performed at the Gospel on the Grounds Sunday evening and had a great time.  Even though we had to endure all the normal fair sounds all around, we still lifted the name of the Lord for those sitting under the tent with us and those walking by could hear the Good News.  Our next concert is Wednesday evening at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Food and Nutrition banquet.

Gospel on the Grounds

Our time is set for the Robeson County Fair on October 3rd.  We will be singing at 5pm.  We are looking forward to our time down there sharing with the folks of Robeson County.  We sang there last year and had such a great time.  Come on down and enjoy us and spend some time  at the fair.

United Christian Fellowship Church

Sometimes we actually clean up pretty nice. We had a great time with the folks in Wallace NC and can't wait to go back again.  It was an awesome service and the food afterwards was nothing less than fantastic. I am still trying to find out who made those green beans.  Wow!

Early Start on Sunday

We leave bright and early Sunday to sing At the United Christian Fellowship Church homecoming.  Pray for us to have safe travels and a spirit filled service.

Harvest Baptist Church

Sunday night was a great night at Harvest Baptist.  It is a hard place to find but a great place to be. The preaching was great revival preaching and the people really know how to clap in rhythm. We had a wonderful  time praising the Lord in song and the message was clear.  If you love Him, you've gotta tell somebody about Him. He doesn't think that is too much to ask.  Neither do I.

Robeson County Fair

We are scheduled to sing at the Robeson County Fair on October 3rd. We don't have a time yet but we will update everyone as soon as we get assigned a time slot.  We had a great time the last time we were there and look forward to singing there again this year.

Harvest Baptist Church

Sunday night , September 12th, we will be at the Harvest Baptist Church in Hope Mills. It is revival night and we start at 6 so come and join us for a wonderful event. Mike will be joining us for this and the next several concerts so we will have the old group back together again and that is nice. See ya' there!

Keep an eye on the Calendar

The Lord just continues to bless us.  September is turning out to be a pretty busy month for us.  We are singing on the 12 at Harvest Baptist, the 18th at Heritage Place and it looks like we are going to have something on the 19th as well.  I will update everyone once we have the confirmation.  Also rumor has it that Mike will be with us the weekend of the 18th and 19th and we are truely excited about that.  I promise we will work on getting new pictures and videos so we can post them here for you.  For now you can search on Youtube for Jsimpson43 and find most of what we  have uploaded.  :o)

Carolina Rehab

We reaffirmed our calling last night at Carolina Rehab.  The smiles during the concert and all the feedback afterwards just let us know that we are doing what God wants us to do. Steve, April and I discussed it last night before we left for our individual homes. We may not make the "big time" concert circuit but we are going to have a "big time" no matter where God sends us. We just love what we do and thank God, He has given us an opportunity to spread His word of hope and love and forgiveness through music.

Goodbye to Zach

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to Zach Rivenbark.  We truly enjoyed his presence with us for the short time he was here.  We wish him the best in all his future projects. We will keep him in our prayers as well as all those out there whom God has given a ministry through music. Zach,  we are going to miss you!

Carolina Rehab and more

On August 17th we will be at the Carolina Rehab facility on Cumberland road here in Fayetteville. We have a 6:30 start time so come on out and join us for a time of fun and worship. We have a couple more dates on the calendar as well.  We will be at Victory Baptist Church in Hope Mills NC on August 29th for the Sunday morning service and on September the 12th we will be visiting the Harvest Church of Fayetteville.  We are excited to be so busy and we hope the trend continues.  We hope to see you at one or all of the places on the schedule.

lightningsky

Lightning Display over Fayetteville

The lightning display we saw on the way back from Jordan's Chapel was hard to describe. Well, after practice on Thursday night the show was on again. I just wanted to share this with everyone. My wife took the video and I am glad she did.

Wonderful Day!

We call came from different directions to meet at Penderlea Baptist Church.  I left at 7 am from Fayetteville. Steve and his wife came up from Wilmington as did April and her son David. Set up went quickly and April did an awesome job on the sound board.  The concert went well and the people seem to be moved by the words of the songs. After the service Zach's parents treated us to lunch and then we went back to their house to rest up for the evening concert at Jordan's Chapel in Burgaw. we got there about 4:45 for set up and sound check and then sang for an hour.  The spirit was moving and it seemed all in attendance were blessed in some way. We  had cake and other delights after the service and it was great to fellowship with everyone and meet many of Zach's family.   Then on the way home we were witness to a glorious lightning display in the thunderstorms ahead of us. It was just a small sign of just how powerful our God is.

Busy Sunday coming up!

This Sunday is going to be a busy one for 3N1. Steve, Zach, and I are headed down to the Burgaw area for 2 programs. We will be at Penderlea Baptist Church at 10am Sunday morning for the worship service. We are excited about participating in their service. We have 30 -45 minutes scheduled there and then we are off to Jordan's Chapel for the evening service. We are doing about an hour long service there and are really looking forward to meeting everyone there. Zach is the one responsible for booking these since they are considered in his "home" territory. I am sure Zach's family and friends will turn up at some point during the day and then Steve and I can hear all the wonderful , funny , embarrassing, stories about Zach's childhood. Come and Join us for a great time at both services.

Breezewood was great.

I was concerned about singing on Thursday night due to some kind of summer cold I was coming down with. I spent a lot of time in prayer that day before Zach, Steve and I got up to sing. We were a little worried about the sound system but April nailed the set up. We probably sang better than we have in a while and had a great time. I could breath the whole time we were singing where it was only 50% at best earlier in the day. The folks at Breezewood were wonderful and we hope we have a chance to go back sometime. The "fix your own" ice cream Sunday buffet after the meeting wasn't too bad either (smile). We have a big day coming in a couple of Sundays as we travel and sing on both a Sunday morning and Sunday evening down near Wilmington. It will be a busy day but a day full of worshipping to Lord in song.

Breezewood Church

We have a short turn around time and it is back out again and that is a good thing. We are headed to the Breezewood Church on Legion Road in Fayetteville on Thursday night, July 8th. We are singing for one of their senior groups there and we know we are going to have a good time. Heritage place has already called and wants us back to sing for the assisted living side of the facility after singing for the independent side less than a week ago. We are already working on a date for them. We are booked for two events on July 25th down around the little town of Burgaw. We are going to visit with some of Zach's home folk and we are so looking forward to hearing some stories about Zack that He hasn't told us. Zak is starting to come around and learn how to take Steve and I's antics. If you think I keep misspelling Zackari's name, you are correct. We deemed it if the Hotel can't get Zax name right then we should'n't have to worry about it either.

Heritage Place, a great place!

Saturday we had the opportunity to sing for the independent living side of Heritage Place in downtown Fayetteville. Mike was back so we had a chance to put the quartet back together again and that is always a lot of fun. We had a great time singing and all those who attended had a great time. I know because they told me so! We had several stop us and ask us to come back and we will most certainly do that. It it always nice to get a chance to do what we feel God has set aside for us as our ministry. July is getting busy already and that is a good thing.

AARP was awesome

The AARP luncheon on Tuesday was fantastic. We had a great time and all those in attendance had a great time as well. We were all to happy to sing for them as well as give them the message that God is always there. No matter what!

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

IT's Official

We will be at Heritage Place in down-town Fayetteville on June 26th. We start singing at 12:45 and it looks like it will be the quartet version of 3N1. It should be a great time for all in attendance.

Lord feed your children

The first time I heard this song was at the Gaither Homecoming here in Fayetteville. It has been one of my favorite songs ever since. I can listen to this song and feel the Lord speak to me and tell me everything will be OK, just come to Him and feast on His blessings. No matter what any of us may have done in our lives, He has set a place for us at His table and that place is always there for us. It is in our down times that God gives us the opportunity to truly understand what His grace and His mercy are all about. I hope you enjoyed the video of the Gaither Vocal Band. I think I have listened to it about 10 times today and the 10th time touched my heart as much as the first. Isn't it amazing how God can take some words and a melody and create a mighty instrument to touch those who will listen. After listening to this song for a while, I just wanted to share it with you.

New Contest

How many ways can you spell Zachary????? I think we should be able to come up with about 20. Help us out. I think this should be fun. I plan to use all 20 somewhere in upcoming post!!

Cedar Creek

Cedar Creek was an awesome experience. After we finished singing, we had several people approach us and tell us about how much one of the songs we sang touched them in a special way. They are an awesome group to sing for and we are already looking forward to singing for them again.

clip from Oak Hill United Methodist

Here is a clip from one of the songs we did at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. We had a great time changing 3N1 from a trio to a quartet. This is only the begining of things to come. We are off to Cedar Creek on Saturday.

Oak Hill United Methodist

Our trip to Asheville to the Oak Hill United Methodist Church was fantastic. It was great to finally have Mike back for a few days. We had a chance to have one practice on Saturday with all four of us before we sang for the homecoming on Sunday. The sound of all 4 voices blending together was awesome and we can't wait to get Mike back to Fayetteville full time so we can continue with the quartet. The food after the homecoming service was awesome and almost as awesome and the folks from Oak Hill. It was a great day of food, fellowship, and praising the Lord in song. We got lots of pictures and videos so keep an eye out for the new stuff to be posted. I will announce here when the facebook page is ready to go. Zach has volunteered to start our facebook page just as soon as I get him some pictures and videos. I guess the pressure is on me now. :o) Next Saturday we are headed to Cedar Creek Assisted Living Center. We love it there and are very excited to be heading back. I am still on a spiritual high from our time here in Asheville. God is Good!!!!!

Folk Arts Festival

Hi Everyone, I know I am a little late with this post but things have been really busy. Our first performance with our new member, Zach, went very well. We had a great time praising the Lord and introducing Zach to all our shenanigans that Steve and I pull on stage. Things look to keep busy for us in the next month or two so keep checking back. We even plan to start a facebook page. Wow, we are moving up in the world, LOL.

Come on Down early and enjoy the other entertainment and exhibits and FOOD. I love fair type food. MMM MMMM! This will be our second year at the festival. We had a great time last year and are looking forward to sharing the word of God in song. Another reason we are excited is that we will be introducing our newest member on Saturday, Zach Rivenbark. I will give you all more information on Zach later but for now it will suffice to say we are excited to have him join us and look forward to singing with him for a long time. See Ya' there!

Easter Sunrise Service

We were at the Reilly Road Presbyterian Church Easter Sunrise Service for the second year in a row. Finally for the first time in 5 years we were not in heavy coats and gloves. The weather was beautiful and the service was breathtaking. We were so happy to be a part of it. After the service, there was breakfast for everyone. I helped to cook pancakes for almost 40 people. Mr Clark and JP from Reilly Road had already prepared eggs, bacon and sausage. It was a breakfast feast. While I was cooking, Steve and Mike got stuck with putting away the equipment and stacking chairs. I would like to offer my special thanks to them for going above and beyond the call of duty. Not only do I love singing with you guys, I love just being around you. I will always value your friendship. Easter..... what else can you say? He is alive and well. May we never forget what He suffered so that we might be able to live with Him forever.

Cape Fear Valley Hospital Good Friday

Steve and I had the great opportunity to sing at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital's Good Friday service. It was a crazy day at work for me with loads of drama and my heart was very heavy due to things happening to one of my friends at work. The chance to sing was a welcome one and one that helped to lift my spirit. We sang three songs for the service and then hung around to sing 2 or 3 more. I then went back to Steve's department. When they saw us in our 3N1 shirts, they asked when we were singing. We told them we just finished in the chapel. They requested a song right there on the spot. Steve announced that no one had to stay and listen if they did not want to. We then quickly set up the laptop and my little external speakers and gave another mini concert. This time it was not giving a blessing through our singing, it was me getting a blessing from those who were listening. Thanks everyone

Cedar Creek

On May 22 at 4pm we are headed back to Cedar Creek. This is one of our favorite places to sing. The folks as Cedar Creek love to sing as much as we do and you can see it on their faces. It is a blessing for us to sing with them.

Heritage Place

We have a new date set for April 23 at the Heritage place. We went by for a site visit and really enjoyed talking with Sharon and looking around the whole facility. We will be in the independent living building for this performance but plan to schedule a second one in the assisted living building real soon. Just keep us in your prayers and our ministry moves forward. God Bless all of you who have prayed for us and made contacts for us. We couldn't do this without our God and your prayers. Thanks to everyone.

Youtube Videos

Just wanted to let everyone know our videos are doing great on Youtube. We have had over 300 view and some even included views from Africa and Europe. I know what you are thinking...... No No! Not all of those views were by our mothers. I am sure they looked a couple of times but not 300. The Lord just keeps blessing us. It is just the little things like this that get us excited about doing God's work. God's word in song can touch people's hearts. We will never know the seeds we may have planted and others have nurtured but that is ok. We will just keep on planting.

We are still keeping on!

So far no luck finding that additional voice we are looking for but we are not letting that keep us down. We have scheduled a visit to Heritage Place in down-town Fayetteville NC. We are looking forward to meeting Sharon and all the folks there in April. We have a date but not an exact time yet so I will let everyone know once I have that information. Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to minister in a way that God would have us do. We hope to be adding a few more dates in the next few weeks so keep coming back and checking on us.

Western North Carolina here we come!

Hello again, 3N1 has some great news. It looks like we get to make a trip to the western part of the state on May 16th. We are going to sing at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church as a part of their homecoming. That means 2 things, good singing and good food. What a great combination. We hope to see you there.

Still Looking for New Member

we have been getting a few phone calls lately for folks wanting to hear us sing and praise the Lord. We are still looking for a third person to join us. Keep praying God will send them to us. We do have a church in Asheville who wants us to sing for their homecoming in May. That is just one opportunity on the horizon!

I just wanted to share this!

I found this embedded in a craigslist add for muscicians. After watching it, I just wanted to share it. I had heard the story before but I don't think you can ever here too many stories about how God can take something so small and use it to touch so many people. God Bless You!

Get Ready

Thought I would upload this video called Get Ready. I would like to think we are getting ready to move in a new direction. Now that does not mean we are going to start doing hip hop or rock and roll. It mean we are still looking for a third person to sing with us since Mike had to leave us. We are still praying God will help us to find the right person to help us continue our ministry. Enjoy the video!

Changes on the Horizon

Hello Everyone, Changes are on the Horizon for 3N1. Mike has deceided to take a new job in Georga and will only be home on weekends for the next 12 to 18 months. This will cause him to not be available to us on any consistant basis. With all that said, 3N1 is now looking for someone to step in while Mike is gone and possibly stay on and make 3N1 a quartet when and if Mike chooses to come back. If you or someone you know would like to join our ministry, just let us know. I have placed a classified ad on craigslist for Faytetteville in the musician community section. Keep praying for us as we look to keep moving our ministry forward.
